Social Studies
Social Studies – 1 Hour Class
Explore people, communities and the forces that shape society in our one-hour Social Studies classes, designed for students aged 5–18.
Each lesson is adapted to the student’s age, school level and learning goals. Younger learners explore families, communities, cultures, traditions, environments and the ways people live and work together. Older students can investigate more complex topics involving identity, government, citizenship, economics, social change, human rights and global issues.
Students learn how to ask thoughtful questions, examine different perspectives, interpret sources and connect events and ideas to the world around them. Lessons may include maps, photographs, case studies, timelines, discussion and guided research.
Classes can reinforce current school topics, support assignments, strengthen research and writing skills, or prepare students for assessments. Respectful discussion is encouraged, helping students express their ideas clearly while listening to and considering the experiences of others.
At Brilliant Brain, Social Studies helps students understand that society is shaped by people, places, choices and relationships—and that informed young people can play a meaningful part in their communities.
