Philosophy Classes
Philosophy Classes – 1 Hour
Encourage curiosity, independent thought and meaningful conversation in our one-hour Philosophy classes, designed for students aged 5–18.
Each lesson is adapted to the student’s age, confidence and interests. Younger learners explore engaging questions about fairness, friendship, truth, choices, knowledge and what makes something right or wrong. Older students can examine ethics, logic, identity, free will, society, reality and the ideas of influential philosophers from different cultures and historical periods.
Students learn how to form clear questions, build a reasoned argument, recognise assumptions and consider viewpoints that differ from their own. Lessons may use stories, thought experiments, real-life situations, short readings and guided discussion to make complex ideas accessible and relevant.
Philosophy develops critical thinking, communication, listening and analytical writing. It also teaches students that changing an opinion in response to good evidence is a sign of thoughtful learning, not weakness.
At Brilliant Brain, philosophy is not about memorising somebody else’s answers. It gives students the confidence and intellectual tools to examine important questions and develop ideas of their own.
