Graphic Design – 1 Hour Class

Learn how colour, imagery, typography and layout work together in our one-hour Graphic Design classes, designed for students aged 5–18.

Each lesson is adapted to the student’s age, experience and creative interests. Younger learners explore visual storytelling through shapes, colours, patterns, posters and simple compositions. Older students can develop more advanced skills in typography, branding, logo development, page layout, digital illustration and designing for print or online use.

Students learn how to communicate an idea clearly through visual choices. They are guided through the design process—from understanding a brief and developing initial sketches to refining a concept and producing a finished piece.

Lessons may combine traditional sketching with age-appropriate digital design tools, helping students understand both the creative thinking and practical techniques behind effective design.

Graphic design develops creativity, communication, planning, problem-solving and attention to detail. It also encourages students to think about why a design works, who it is intended for and how it makes the viewer feel.
